East Tamaki Healthcare is equipped to handle minor accidents and injuries that you may have had either at work place, home, sports field or elsewhere. ETHC offers wide range of services to deal with most minor accidents by a consultation followed by an X Ray service if the need be.
Any accident/injury in New Zealand is covered by ACC. It enables the patients to access services at no/reduced cost for services related to that accident. If you are not sure please ask your doctor. 
ACC Accreditation- Bairds Road- A& M Clinic
ETHC’s Baird Road Clinic is an ACC- A&M (Accident and Medical) - accredited clinic.
At an A&M Bairds Road Clinic you have access to the most cost effective treatment services that facilitate you to lead as normal a life as possible, having regard to the consequences of your injury.
ETHC ensures that all services provided under the agreement are necessary, appropriate, timely, of the required quality, and not excessive in number or duration through compliance with all relevant law including (without limitation) the Privacy Act 1993, the Health Information Code 1994 and ensure compliance with the current Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers Rights and the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992, and comply with all reasonable instructions and directions of ACC in relation to the performance of our services.
What is ACC accreditation?
ACC has a system for Accident and medical (A&M) clinics designed to foster quality service provision and to provide a purchase framework more adequately suited to A&M type work than the current regulations. These standards set out minimum levels of clinic staffing, requirements for medical equipment available on-site, facility requirements, and other related areas.

The objective of this service is to provide you with timely access to a quality treatment service that facilitates a prompt, cost-effective and sustainable return to independence and/or work.
ACC Service standards
ACC is committed to purchasing services from providers who can provide and demonstrate a quality service. To this end the provider will:
ETHC has been successfully audited against the Standards for Accident and Medical Clinics and will maintain compliance with the standards by adopting a comprehensive need based approach that will take into account your needs for:
- treatment
- rehabilitation
- maintaining or regaining independence, and

Eigibility for injury cover for everyone in New Zealand
Everyone in New Zealand is eligible for comprehensive injury cover:
• no matter what you’re doing or where you are when you’re injured – driving, playing sport, at home, at work.
• no matter how the injury happened, even if you did something yourself to contribute to it.
• no matter what age you are or whether you’re working – you might be retired, a child, on a benefit or studying.
What injuries are you covered for?
If you have wounds, lacerations, sprains, strains, fractures, dislocations and work-related injuries such as hearing loss you may present at any of our ETHC clinics and ask for an ACC claim. Injuries caused by following are covered:
• an accident
• a condition that comes on gradually because of your work (gradual process)
• medical treatment
• sexual assault or abuse
Visitor in New Zealand?
If you’re injured during your visit to New Zealand, you can present with your condition at any of our ETHC clinics. We can help you to claim an ACC to help with the cost of treatment and to give you the support you need while you’re here.
ACC support may be available to you as a visitor if you are:
• injured in an accident within New Zealand
• in certain circumstances suffering from a health problem related to working in New Zealand
• injured as a result of medical treatment while you are in New Zealand
• dealing with the mental effects of a sexual assault or abuse suffered in New Zealand.
