Year 2008 saw the introduction of Dr Kantilal N Patel’s Values Award which acknowledges the family values of sharing, caring, devotion and worship. This award is an annual award which is awarded to Doctor in Training who best demonstrates these values. This is a part of ETHC’s commitment to workforce development.
In 2007 we had 27 doctors in training, 52 in 2008 and the plan is to have some 80 students being part of the ETHC group.
Benefits of this programme have been considerable not only for the students who have been passive participants of the training process, this has been a learning opportunity for everybody that makes doctors reflect and self evaluate what they do in general practice and how they can be better doctors.
Dr Kantilal N Patel Values Award 2008 was awarded to Kathryn Clark, the 6th year trainee intern for displaying company’s values during her GP attachment with East Tamaki Healthcare. 2009 year’s award recipient was Fiona
