Dr Kantilal N Patel receives The Supreme Business of the Year Award from the Prime Minister
Auckland based East Tamaki Healthcare walked away with the Supreme Award of the year, along with top awards in two individual categories at the Indian Newslink, Indian Business Awards (IBA) 2009 Awards Presentation Night on November 16, 2009. Prime Minister John Key, the Chief Guest of the Awards Night, presented the Award and commended the progress of the Indian entrepreneurs and businesses in New Zealand.
The citation for the three awards that East Tamaki Healthcare received was very encouraging and humbling at the same time because the judges thought that that all the awards were well deserved. East Tamaki Healthcare, one of the largest primary healthcare practices, won the Best Business Innovation Award, Best Professional Services Business Award and the Supreme Business of the Year Award.
The company received the Best Business Innovation Award and the judges felt that The company has the ability to be a major influence on the New Zealand Health system, through its innovative delivery model, and at the same time create significant value for the shareholders, the Best Professional Services Business Award because they have the ability to focus completely on its customers’ requirements, with a business model which can link the business margins required by the owners without compromising the outcome expected by the clinical professionals, that will ensure that the company will continue to grow successfully.
East Tamaki Healthcare receive the highest accolade of the Awards Night-The Supreme Business of the Year Award because the judges felt that:

• Systems developed at East Tamaki Health Care are now being used by other New Zealand medical organisations and there is interest from overseas.
• This is a very good business and worthy winner of the Supreme Award for the Indian Newslink Indian Business Awards 2009.
