GP Career Opportunities
At East Tamaki Healthcare (ETHC), we work actively to provide, not only the best health-care environment for our patients and their families, but also the best working environment for the most dedicated, innovative and qualified professionals in health care. Development of quality processes and safety of medical practice has been a focus of the medical leadership within ETHC.

Being recognised by the
- University of Auckland and University of Otago medical schools as a training institute for undergraduate medical students,
- Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (RNZCGP) to run a Registrar Program and
- Manukau Institute of Technology as a training institute for Nurse Graduates
allows for our trainees to experience real life general practice under the guidance of senior general practitioners, in systems recognised as the model of health delivery for the future.
ETHC staff take collective responsibility for the professional growth of all staff and have supported doctors to graduate as fellows of the RNZCGP through the training programme.
Supportive administration
ETHC’s values-based care model and collaborative team approach organisation-wide translate into a highly supportive environment for staff and physicians. As an organisation, we are fundamentally committed to learning and best practices.
A community setting
Fifteen of our locations are located in community settings within South, West and Central Auckland. These community settings in high needs areas offer great opportunities for physicians and health professionals to be exposed to and treat a wide range of medical conditions.
